I can see a lot of photos of Emerald Lodge on your website but only renderings of Bear Lodge....both are part of Trappeurs Crossing? Are there any differences between the two? Are either available for Christmas/New Year?
Thanks, Doug, CA |

Hi Doug,
Both Bear Lodge and Emerald Lodge are part of Trappeurs as you guessed. Emerald Lodge was the 5th (and currently newest) Lodge at Trappeurs and was completed in December 07. Bear Lodge is the sixth and final Lodge at Trappeurs which is currently under construction and due for completion in November (it's well on schedule and will definately be completed by the start of the ski season). Both properties offer exceptional accommodation, arguably the best you can get in Steamboat and as the two newest Lodges, they're certainly the best Trappeurs has to offer. Bear Lodge does have some nice little upgrades over Emerald but they are essentially very similar. Both have beautiful kitchens, granite worksurfaces, high spec appliances and are beautifully decorated. The bathrooms also have beautiful granite vanity units, frameless showers, jetted tubs, travertine tile and ample hot water to sooth those tired muscles! The units have 42" flatscreen TV's and DVD's in the living room (plus dvd players and stereos with iPod docks) and every bedroom also comes with it's own flatscreen TV and DVD player. One of the big differences at Bear Lodge is that we have some units with private courtyards complete with firepit, BBQ grills and private hot tubs - the perfect place to relax. Even though our properties at Emerald Lodge don't have private hot tubs, the Lodge itself does have it's own outdoor heated pool and hot tubs (Bear also has it's own pool and communal hot tubs). Another fantastic benefit to staying at Trappeurs is that you have a private on demand shuttle service which takes you from the Lodges to the Gondola or indeed anywhere else you want to go in Steamboat at any time between 8am and 10pm. It's a great service and saves the need for hiring a car during your stay (although if you do there's private, secure, heated underground parking at both Lodges). I hope that's given you a better idea of the accommodations but if you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to call or email us. Contact details can be found here Happy vacation planning! Hi, I have some questions about Emerald Lodge:
1) In the results on your main website, I see 5101 and 5102 Emerald Lodge - Is there any major difference between them? 2) How does the private shuttle work? 3) Are the private hot tubs private to each unit or private to the Lodge itself? 4) We are a party of 10 - 4 adults, 5 kids (6, 7, 11, 14, 16) and 1 infant, will the unit accommodate us ok? What is the bed configuration? Can we get a crib for the baby? Thank you for your time. Matthew |

Hello M.T.,
5101 and 5102 are identical. The only difference is the decor is slightly different. The private shuttle is on demand. It takes you to and from the ski area as well as to the grocery store and downtown. Guests have given rave reviews about the exceptional shuttle service! The private hot tubs are private to the lodge itself not the unit. The maximum occupancy for 5101 and 5102 is 10. It would accomodate you. The master has a king, the 2nd has a queen, the 3rd has two twins, the den has a day bed which is two twins, and the sofa in the living room has a queen pull out. We can arrange for a crib for the baby for $5 per night. You may also want to consider our 5 bed, 5 bath just down the hall with all of the same amenities. This would give you much more space for your large group. The link below will show you the 5 bed. http://rentals.simplysteamboat.com/r...ail.aspx?ID=13 Thank you for your questions! Mike

Hi Paul, Louise and Mike
Thank you SO much for a fab time in Steamboat in June. Just adored the sumptuous luxury at Emerald Lodge and the amazing attention to the little details. This has to be one of the best places I have ever stayed. I was really impressed how much there was to do in a ski town in summer, close call between the mountain biking and tubing down the Yampa for my favourite thing. Hope to see you all again sometime in ski season. Have a great winter. Kate and family x |

Towards the top it says that Emerald doesnt have private hot tubs. On Ski.com.. one of the options for a room is a 1 bedroom 1bath with private hot tub... does this mean private for that room?

There are 2 one bedroom units at Emerald which have private hot tubs - private to those units only. They're usually booked a long long time in advance though!
All the units at Emerald have jetted tubs in the master bathrooms and there are a lot more units at Bear Lodge which have private courtyards and private hot tubs. Emerald also has it's own private outdoor heated pool and community hot tubs just steps from the back door of the building. Sorry for the delayed response to your question!
