Slopeside Grill - 1855 Ski Time Square
Located right next to the slopes and off Torian Plum plaza, Slopeside is the place for pizza in town. Named after Steamboat's famous ski runs and baked in their wood fired oven, these pizzas are hard to beat. They also have a grill menu with all the usual suspects and a good nacho appetizer that goes great with those end of day beers! Hazie's - Thunderhead Gondola Building Even if you don't ski (perhaps especially if you don't ski!) you can still take the Gondola up to Thunderhead and have lunch at Hazie's, one of Steamboat's two 'fine' dining restaurants on the mountain. Ok, so don't get too excited by the food but it's not that bad and made better by the totally awesome views from the large floor to ceilings windows which look down towards Steamboat. Last year they took the price of a non-skier gondola ticket off your bill if you showed it (making it a free ride up (and down!)) for the non skiers in the group. If you reserve in advance, make sure you ask for a table next to the windows! Open until 2pm - reservations recommended during busy periods. Bear River Grill Right opposite the gondola entrance at the base of the slopes and adjoining the Sheraton building, it has some acceptable if not inspirational food. That aside, it's a good apres ski place for a snack and a beer - there's usually live music on too! Last edited by Jody; 08-23-2010 at 11:04 AM. |

For Hazie's and Western BBQ, you can also eat dinner. It's as easy as making reservations and riding up the gondola. The lights of Steamboat at night as you go up the mountain is a beautiful sight.
